When additional capabilities are needed—such as deeper analysis, expanded modeling, or advanced features—users can seamlessly upgrade to the full toolkit on their own timeline.

Export Compliance
SWAN is subject to United States export control regulations. Access to this software and associated technical data may be restricted under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). By accessing or purchasing SWAN, users certify that they:
Are a U.S. person or are otherwise authorized to receive the software under applicable U.S. export laws.
Are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any U.S.-embargoed country, including but not limited to Iran, North Korea, Syria, or Cuba.
Are not listed on any U.S. government restricted or denied party lists.
Will not export, reexport, or transfer SWAN or any derivative technical data in violation of U.S. export control regulations.
Equinox Technologies reserves the right to restrict or terminate access if export compliance requirements cannot be verified.
Permitted Use
SWAN is licensed for use by authorized users for research, engineering analysis, and mission design support. Users may not:
Redistribute the software without written authorization.
Reverse engineer or decompile the software.
Provide the software to unauthorized foreign persons or entities.
Use the software in violation of applicable export control laws.
Scientific Models and Attribution
SWAN integrates radiation environment modeling approaches derived from widely used space environment models and published scientific methods. These include:
CREME96-based radiation environment modeling for solar energetic particle (SEP) and galactic cosmic ray (GCR) environments. Internal databases used by SWAN include select and sampled radiation environment datasets generated from CREME96 simulations originally developed by NASA and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory.
AP8 trapped radiation model, as implemented within the IRENE framework, for proton belt environment estimation.
Stoermer geomagnetic cutoff formulation used in geomagnetic transmission and cutoff rigidity calculations.
SWAN incorporates derived datasets and analytical methods based on these models but does not redistribute the original CREME96 software package or any external modeling software used in the development of SWAN. All referenced models remain the intellectual property of their respective developers and organizations.
Users are encouraged to cite the original scientific publications associated with these models when results generated using SWAN are included in technical reports, research papers, or other publications.
Accuracy and Liability Disclaimer
SWAN is provided for research and engineering analysis purposes. While care has been taken in implementing the underlying models and datasets, Equinox Technologies makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of results produced by the software.
Users are responsible for verifying results and ensuring that analyses meet mission or engineering requirements. Equinox Technologies shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the software.
User Certification of Eligibility
By accessing, downloading, purchasing, or using SWAN, the user represents and warrants that all information provided to Equinox Technologies for purposes of access, registration, or licensing is true, accurate, and complete.
The user further certifies that they are legally eligible to receive the software under applicable United States export control laws and regulations. Any false or misleading representation regarding identity, nationality, organizational affiliation, or export eligibility may result in immediate termination of access.
Users agree that they are solely responsible for ensuring that their use, transfer, or distribution of the software complies with all applicable export control laws and regulations.
